First and foremost, Happy Inauguration Day!!
I can't get this Nina Simone song out of my head (nor do I want to) --
"It's a new dawn,
it's a new day,
and I'm feeeeling gooood...."

As for food news, I attended a Cassoulet Cookoff at Jimmy's No.43 on Saturday and was blown away by the offerings. Seven contestants battled it out with beans and meat (and one veg option) and the event was the perfect antidote to the frigid temps we experienced in NYC.
The competition's lone rule: Thou Must Use Greenmarket Sausage. AND all proceeds went to benefit the Greenmarket so no need to feel guilty about consuming a mountain of pork products.
Please check out my full review over on TimeOut New York's food blog, The Feed. Leave a comment there if you feel so inspired! Winner Mark Bello from Pizza A Casa...Can we get your cassoulet recipe, Mark?
